Ultra-Capacitor UPS System

The C-TEC buffer modules from J.Schneider working with Ultra-capacitors as energy storage and is therefore 100% maintenance free. It can bypass supply failure without interruption up to several minutes depending on the load. The 12/24 Volt DC UPS of the C-TEC series is equipped with integrated ultra-capacitors as energy storage. During normal operation this storage is charged by an internal charger which is supplied by an external DC power supply. If the DC supply is interrupted, energy of the ultra-capacitors is released in a regulated process. The load is supplied by the buffer modul until the capacitors are discharged. The buffering time depends on the state of charge of the capacitor and discharging current.

The CEM module is used to increase the buffer energy for the devices C-TEC 2403-05; 2403-1; 2420-8 and 2440P as well as for the devices AC C-TEC 2403-05; AC C-TEC 2403-1; AC C-TEC 2403-1-400; AC C-TEC 2420-8.

The C-TEC monitors and controls the charging and discharging of the extension modules.

TECControl for the IPC operation

A controlled shutdown can be initiated if the supply does not recover within the adjustable thresholds. Windows and Linux systems are supported or dry contacts can be used. A fast charging cycle together with deep discharge protection guarantees highest availability and long life time even at high ambient temperature. The ultra-capacitor buffer units are DIN-rail mountable and can be operated within sealed IP66 electrical enclosure and ambient temperature up to 60┬░Celsius. All version supply a DC output, with AC or DC as input voltage. Additional capacitor modules with 1, 2, 8 or 16kJ can be used to extend the overall capacity and therefore to buffer time.
